Binibining Pilipinas Universe 2009 - Pamela Bianca Manalo
Contestants from 84 countries all over the world have gathered on the Bahamas to compete for the 58th Miss Universe title. The Philippines is proudly represented by Pamela Bianca Manalo, a 22 years old model-flight stewardess from Manila. She was crowned as the Binibining Pilipinas Universe 2009 last March 7, 2009 at the Araneta Coliseum where she beat 24 equally gorgeous ladies.
Pamela Bianca was born from a family of beauty queens. She is the sister of Katherine Anne Manalo, Miss World 2002 Top 10 finalist and the niece of Nini Ramos, Miss International 1968 Top 15 semi-finalist. Bianca Manalo graduated from Assumption College with the degree in BA Advertising.
Our very own Bianca Manalo catapulted herself as the no. 1 Asian delegate this year for her mesmerizing stage presence and excellent catwalk skills.
The last filipina to be crowned Miss Universe was Margarita Moran in 1973 held at Athens, Greece. It’s been 36 long years since the country gained the honor of having the most beautiful lady in the world. The entire Filipino community are very optimistic for Pamela Bianca to be the crowned winner of this pageant.
The much-awaited Miss Universe 2009 will be aired live from the Atlantis Paradise Island in Nassau, Bahamas on ABS-CBN this Monday, August 24, 2009 at 9:30am. The beauty pageant will be hosted by “Access Hollywood” co-anchor Billy Bush and “Celebrity Apprentice” star Claudia Jordan. ABS-CBN will also be airing a pre-pageant special at 8:30am with former Miss Philippines-Universe title holders Ruffa Gutierrez, Miriam Quiambao and Charlene Gonzales.
We at Proud To Be Pinoy are extending our best wishes to Pam and hope that she could bring another prestige to our country.
