Ways to Help Victims of Typhoon Ondoy
September 29, 2009 by Marlowe Lacsina
Philippine’s capital, Manila, was caught unprepared from Mother Nature’s little surprises. On September 26, 2009, Typhoon Ondoy unleashed a massive amount of rainfall to Metro Manila and nearby areas in just a few hours, literally mapping out the whole city in mud and debris. Ondoy (International Name: Ketsana) brought in a severe flood resulting in the loss of more than 200 lives while more are still missing, about 2 billion pesos worth of damages in infrastructures & agriculture and above 300,000 families directly affected. The greatly devastated Philippines, which is presently in a state of calamity, needs all the help that it can get from local and international community. It is interesting to note that the outpouring of support from different online networks is equally phenomenal. So here are some useful sites on how you can lend a hand.
